When I began building my website, I became obsessed with Eastwood genealogy and especially the history of the Eastwood Family. As I was constructing our Family Tree, I knew that I had to seriously concentrate on Clint's branch as closely as my own. Obviously the majority of visitors to this site are here for information about my famed cousin, Clint, not to see when my great grandfather, Enos, married. Well, it turns out that Enos is the youngest brother of Lewis Washington Eastwood (Clint's g,g, grandfather).
They are the 4th & 8th sons of
Asa Eastwood, America's most renowned Eastwood, prior to Clinton Jr. Asa (1781-1870) was born at the same time as our fledgling nation, and rose to prominence on many levels during his 89 year lifetime. He was a US Naval Hero, a decorated officer at age 19 aboard the U.S.'s first built warship, the famed frigate, USS Constellation. A Jeffersonian Democrat and close ally of New York's longest serving Governor (and US Vice President), George Clinton, he served our new nation at every political level. He was elected a delegate to the NY State Convention to rewrite the US Constitution, the New York State Legislature,
the NY State Assembly, served as both Constable and Justice of the Peace in NY City, and countless other political offices. Under the tutelage of former US Vice President, Aaron Burr, he became a "Sachem" (leader) of New York's famed Tammany Hall, the most powerful political machine in US History. He was also a founder and leader of the upstate New York Masonic Order (Freemasons), a secret society whose members were the leaders of the American Revolution, and were instrumental in the creation and organization of the US Government (George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Henry Clay, Paul Revere, to name just a few).

All that being said, I agree that Asa's long, illustrious career has been surpassed by Internationally famed actor, director, producer, Clint Eastwood. Enjoying an unbelievably successful career for more than 50 years, Clint is renowned throughout the entire world and is recognized among critics and fans alike, as a leader of every category in which he works. Therefore, he deserves more than a single page Eastwood biography. After about 15-20 individual pages within the Eastwood Family site, I've succumbed to the inevitable. Consequently, I've built him his own website, which has been growing by leaps and bounds.
